Installing the Last Version for iPod Scrutiny 12: A Story of Adequate Performance

Even after ten years, our computer still works adequately when we need it to. Just recently, I used it while explaining to a friend how my computer was doing. 'Adequate' means being able to fulfill a need or requirement without being abundant or outstanding.

I've always been fascinated by words that are less commonly used in everyday conversations. One such word is 'tee total,' which means never drinking alcohol. I learned this term while watching the film Coach Carter, and my friend knew what it meant too!

On another occasion, I told a friend who's an English major about a word I found in a book discussing responsible drivers. The word was 'vexed,' which means being full of difficulties or feeling mad or angry. Unfortunately, she didn't understand me at first and walked away.

At work, I had to explain the term 'lorry' to my manager. A lorry is simply another name for a truck. I learned this word while looking through a Britain dictionary.

I'd like to share three interesting juicy words with you all. Last night, I used the word 'antipathy' when talking with a friend about his feelings towards his wife's family. Antipathy refers to a dislike or aversion to something or someone.

In another conversation, I told my aunt that a relative in Boston was given preferential treatment because of cryonism, not because he actually deserved it. Cryonism is the practice of giving someone an advantage simply because of who they know, rather than their professional qualifications. She looked at me with her mouth wide open!

I also used the word 'nepotism' while talking on the phone with my cousin about the current job situation in Greece. Nepotism refers to favoritism given to a friend or relative without merit.

These words have been put into action, and I'm excited to share them with you!
